About FFA AC
After more than 12 years of coaching runners of all abilities we finally decided to register as running club! Our first intake this year saw 100 athletes sign up with us, and soon we saw the red, black and white FFA vests bobbing on the roads, tracks and trails of South Africa and beyond.
We are trying hard to not only promote running to our members and the running community at large, but also to make running affordable, enjoyable and as exciting as possible!
FFA AC is a sports club affiliated to National and Provincial Athletic bodies in South Africa. The aims and objectives of the club is to encourage members and newcomers in the area of running and an active lifestyle. Also to nurture junior runners and motivate the benefits of long term participation in running. We will endeavour to be recognised by other members of the running community for our great spirit, the achievements of the club and individual members, as well as our contribution to the community as a whole.

HARE (Help A Runner Excel)
H.A.R.E. Foundation – Help A Runner Excel!
H.A.R.E. is not another development project, but rather an enrichment program. As a metaphor for life, there will be hard work for all concerned. There will be give and take, there will be awards, but there will be no hand-outs.
Talented athletes unable to pursue their dreams due to current circumstances are encouraged to apply for assistance through the HARE program and successful applicants will be offered the opportunity to train on the FFA program through the support of sponsors and other interested parties.
Athletes are guided on a few levels including the following:
- Scientific athletic preparation and coaching
- Nutritional guidance
- Skills development and part-time employment
- Financial skills and personal money management
Running legend Israel Morake has joined forces with FFA and has become instrumental in assisting and driving our elite and development groups. As Comrades gold medallist and former Two Oceans winner Israel has a wealth of experience and information to offer and his vibrant personality inspires young and old alike. Many of our junior and adult athletes have already benefited from his input and expertise. Don’t be fooled by the age-group tag on his running vest either – this 50-something runner can still mix it up with the best of them and still has some unfinished business on the road!
Since the inception of the program in 2012 our athletes have made us proud and already the running world is sitting up to take notice!
