Founder and head coach of Fitness From Africa. Marcel has over 25 years of experience. He has a 10 km PB of 31min and completed over 40 standard marathons and podiumed on 5 different continents.

Brendan McBirnie

Brendan join the FFA Team in 2002 while he was studying sports science. Marcel was his track coach at school. He has a 10 km PB time of 36min and now spends most of his time on trail and stage races.

Marko is a double South African cross country champion, and has been on the local and international podium a number of times. He loves to work with junior and adult runners who want to improve performances on the track, cross country and up to 10 km on the road

Cian is a provincial track and cross country runner. She has a post-graduate in sports science and has over ten years of experience in track, cross country and road running with growing interests in strength, conditioning and nutrition.

Tamlyn is an ASA-qualified sprint coach and with her post-graduate in sports science she is an experienced track coach, 10 km enthusiast, and knows her way around the weights room.

James is a proficient marathon and ultra runner as well as an Iron Man. His coaching focus is on road running up to Comrades distance, as well as multi-disciplinary coaching.
