[ What Our Programs Include ]

Structure Program

You have to have a plan to get results.  We will start with a periodization plan before creating a personalized program showing you the daily sessions so that you can see the big picture and how we are going to work towards your goal!

Heart Rate & Pace

Your program will give you either heart rate or pace guidelines specific to you so that you can get the most out of each training session. The program will also follow scientific principles by having different phases of training to peak you for your goal!

Group Training

All runners have access to our group speed sessions that occur twice a week at various venues in Johannesburg. If you can't attend the sessions, the relevant speed will be included in your program with times, distances and intensities so you can still get the benefits of interval and tempo sessions.

Feedback & Support

Our programs are personal and if you are not seeing us regularly then we will be in regular contact with you. Your training feedback will be analyzed and your program regularly updated to ensure ongoing success.

Complete the quick drop down form with your current training and race goals so we can create your free personalized program.

Get Linked To Our Training Platform

Marcel or Brendan will create you program according to your goals and training history. You will receive a link to the training platform where all your sessions will appear along with the heart rate zone and pace zone guidelines.

Join Group Speed Sessions

Join one of group speed sessions that occur twice a week at various locations in Johannesburg or get the speed session directly on your app.

5.

Support & Training Advice

Link your heart rate monitor or Strava to the app. This will automatically upload each of your completed sessions so Marcel and Brendan can monitor your training and give you feedback. We will also be in constant contact to provide training advice or answer any questions that you have.

Exercise Specialist

Marcel Viljoen

Marcel is an exercise specialist with a running career that has spanned decades. He has participated at National Championships for track, cross-country and road. He was also a full time athlete in Europe and U.S.A and achieved podium finishes in events that span 5 continents.

Sport Scientist

Brendan McBirnie

Brendan received his honors in B.Sc (Sport Science) at RAU. During his school years Brendan competed in track and cross-country with Marcel being his coach and mentor. He has a special interest and love for trail running and strength training.
